It is the largest municipality of the region with 76,4 km² and 8.300 inhabitants. It is surrounded by different natural landscapes like fields, the Gavarres massif and the Puig de les Cadiretes. It enters to the Ardenya massif and it becomes the ideal place for hiking. There are different routes to do on foot, by BTT or by horse.
His most illustrious character is Emili Vilà I Gorgoll, recognized in France as a famous portraitist with two honorary titles: the French decoration of Knight of the Legion of Honor and the award of the French artist cross.
