Sant Joan de Mollet has an area of 3,2 km² and it has about 500 inhabitants. The territory from which the municipality spreads is flat, although the center of the village is located on a hill surrounding the church. This little village limits on the north with the Ter River and on the south with Sant Martí Vell. On the east Sant Joan de Mollet limits with the village of Flaçà and on the west with Bordils.
Its location between the Ter and the Gavarres allows doing hiking and cycling excursions.
